How many times have you been tempted to try the next quick-fix idea when it comes to wellness? How much time, money and energy have you wasted on getting quick fix results that slowly faded away as soon as you went back to your old habits.

We often get focused on superficial goals of weight loss, body composition, and pants size, but what we truly desire, if we look deep down inside, are sustainable results that allow us to find greater enjoyment in life, achieve higher levels of success, feel sexy, have sustainable energy to play with our kids, reduce the risk of disease and so on.

How can we finally find a way to stick to a lifestyle of wellness and experience all of the amazing benefits that come with it? After all, if you were in an ambulance having a heart attack, would you be thinking about how many pounds you need to lose, or what you could have done to respect your body better so you could be there for your family?

It all comes down to 3 critical components that when combined together create a foundation for sustainable wellness and energy.

Mindset

This may seem unusual at first since we were just talking about our body, but the reality is that we must first address the mind. This is so critical to our success because we are creatures of habit and if we are looking to make sustainable changes in our lives, we must first understand our deep-rooted WHY behind making those changes to avoid slipping back into our old patterns.

Here is how it works: (Write Your Answers Down In A Place You Can Come Back To)

Ask yourself, “What is your initial goal of living a lifestyle of wellness?”
Then ask, “WHY do you want to reach this goal?”
With every answer of WHY ask the question again to go deeper until you can not go any farther.

Example:
What is your goal? I want to lose 30 pounds
Why? I want to feel better in my body
Why? I want to have more energy
Why? I will to have more energy when I get home after working to be engaged with my children
Why?My family is the most important thing to me and I don’t want to miss out on any time with them
Why? I need to keep myself healthy so that I can be there for my children to raise them.
Why? I want to experience all the joys of raising children and give them stability.

The trick is going as deep as possible until you really can feel into why you want this in your life. Many times, people wait until they are faced with a health challenge and their WHY becomes very clear.

Your body will whisper, then speak and then shout louder and louder until you listen. Will you start making sustainable changes while you are in still in control of reducing your risk or wait until it is too late?

The HOW is easy, once you know your WHY!

Movement

Feeling tired, lethargic, and mentally foggy? You probably need more movement in your life. Hold on…don’t stop reading just yet, movement does not have to mean a hardcore exercise program. How much movement and what type all depends on your goals. The important thing is that you need some sort of movement!

Movement in critical to improving our energy levels, increasing our mental clarity and focus. Many people have been trained to think about it as something we do to lose weight or change our body composition and these are just the side effects of movement.,

Movement has been shown to help boost our energy, improve mood, reduce the risk of disease, promote healthy sleep, improve your sex life, control your weight, and give you something fun to do! Imagine a life like this!!

You may think that exercise is going to tire you out, or that you don’t have the energy to even start. Let us assure you, all it takes is the first few minutes to get the blood flowing to improve your energy and mood.

We recommend for those that are not accustomed to exercising regularly that you start with 5 minutes of walking every day (outside if possible). If you miss one day, hold yourself accountable to do 10 minutes the next day.

Start off with a reasonable goal for where you are right now and build from there, before you know it you will be craving more and seeking a new challenge. Experience increased energy, confidence, clarity and focus today!

Nutrition

There are so many choices out there today when it comes to nutrition. Everyone has a magic diet that is going to solve all of your problems. The reality is that most people that try a diet, while they may have short-term results, end up failing to achieve sustainable results leaving them in a yo-yo pattern, damaging their body and their self-esteem.

The question becomes how do you achieve sustainable results?

We have found with our clients, that people do not like to be told what they can’t have. Rather, they find much higher levels of success when we encourage them to add things to their diet. The most sustainable results come from adding whole foods to your diet with high nutrient density. Think vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds.

When you have a mindset of awareness while eating, you will quickly realize how much your energy level and mental clarity is influenced by the fuel you put in your body.

Conclusion

To have the greatest success in building a foundation of sustainable wellness and increased energy in your life, you need to start with your WHY and then build in sustainable practices of both movement, nutrition, and mindset!

We believe in you! If we can do it, why can’t you?
